Program Training Plan

Advanced Composite Technology focuses on state-of-the-art training for students to advance in the growing market for skilled Composite Technicians.  Students will learn in-depth about the composite industry and all that it entails. This program is a continuation from the MATC Basic Composite Technology Program and will continue training for skilled technicians in pre-preg processes, coatings, pattern and mold construction, core materials, composite repair, and blue print reading.  Composites are important in aerospace, automotive, general aviation aircraft, prosthetics, sporting good products, and textile manufacturing.

Adult Cost $698.70 Tuition + $290 Annual Fees + $40 Application Fee = $958.70
Extra Supply Cost Students will be required to purchase safety glasses, two three-ring binders, composite basics guide workbook, and three required textbooks.

Students will be required to purchase any materials needed that they did not purchase for the MATC Basic Composite Technology Program.

Training Materials Cost:
Text/Workbooks and Class Materials: $165.00

Safety Glasses: up to $10.00

Tools: Cost Varies (A professional tool list will be provided, however, purchase of these items is optional. Students are advised to talk with program instructor before purchase of any training materials)

411 Hour Program • 9 - 12 Months

Course Prerequisites

• A minimum of 8 students is required to carry the class.

• All students must meet with the MATC Counselor prior to enrollment to complete a training agreement form.

• Completion of Composite Technology I program at MATC.

• As part of the admission process, students may be required to complete a basic assessment of reading and math skills.  The test is free and takes approximately 2 hr. to complete. For additional information, call the Testing Center at: (801) 753-4110.

 PROGRAM SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY:
Open Entry / Open Exit Enrollment (OE/OE): Students can start class on the 1st or 3rd Monday of the month, providing space is available, and will end upon completion of competencies. High school students must approve enrollment start and end dates with their high school counselor before registering with MATC.

Note: If high school students or their high school class graduates and have not finished all program hours prior to their graduation date, tuition will be charged for the remaining hours.
